Development agency
Sipro is a state-controlled company founded in 1975 as the Società Interventi Produttivi to encourage businesses to open in the Ostellato area by purchasing and developing industrial/artisan areas and providing studies and research.
Over the years, the company has expanded, even getting the Municipality of Ferrara involved with what today is called the North Area, at the exit of the A13 motorway, in a strategic location in terms of logistics and connections. In 1999, it was turned into the local development agency it is today.
Sipro interacts with all economic players, often going beyond a local level, to plan and take advantage of financing aimed at regional development. In other words: by identifying applicable calls for proposals, in Italy and in Europe, and through collaboration with training entities to constantly improve the professional capabilities of businesses. Entities such as Holding Ferrara Servizi, the municipalities, the Chamber of Commerce and a few banks are part of Sipro.
Sipro is focused on three areas:
1
attractiveness
2
promotion of European, national and local funds
3
promotion of the local system
In other words, Sipro constantly conducts marketing efforts aimed at attracting investors from Italy and abroad, designed to encourage the establishment of businesses locally thanks to the support it provides throughout the process, ranging from the identification of suitable sites and locations to assistance in reaching full operational capacity. This is done with integrated actions financed with local and European funds.
For this reason, Sipro interacts with all economic stakeholders: from the municipalities (present with a help desk in Bondeno and Codigoro) to educational entities, with which it shares courses aimed at professional re-training for those who have been pushed out of the labour force and need to find a new professional path, and companies that want to boost the skills of their employees.
On a European level, Sipro is part of transnational cooperation projects that place it on the front lines in terms of energy savings policies and the promotion of sustainable tourism, involving stakeholders in the planning of physical and virtual spaces and in the conservation of natural and cultural heritage.
